Late Tuesday evening, a federal appeals court stayed a court order that had found the Trump administration’s use of federal troops in Los Angeles to conduct law enforcement operations to be unlawful.
Also late Tuesday evening, a federal judge blocked President Donald Trump’s attempt to fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook. The decision comes one week ahead of the Federal Reserve’s next meeting, which is scheduled to begin on Sept. 16.
The White House has ordered immigration enforcement in cities around the country, including Chicago. Trump’s continued to take aim at the Illinois city as it braces for potential federal intervention.
