Attorney Confronts VA School Board Over School-Facilitated Abortion Allegations

An attorney confronted the Fairfax County, VA school board on Thursday over allegations that district officials arranged for minors to get abortions without parental consent.

Steven Aden, who serves as general counsel for Americans United for Life, told the school board during a meeting hat he is representing Fairfax County teacher Zenaida Perez. The teacher has alleged one of her Spanish-speaking immigrant students had abortion procedures “facilitated and financed” by a district social worker.

Perez attempted to report her concerns about the situation to the district and faced workplace retaliation for doing so, according to Aden.

“These allegations are detailed and alarming, and they point to an apparent systematic program for enabling young girls, especially vulnerable immigrants, to unlawfully obtain abortions by evading their parents and their guardians,” Aden told the board.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin ordered state police earlier this month to open a criminal investigation into the claims, saying he is “deeply concerned.”
