FBI agents are investigating gunshots that were fired Tuesday afternoon at a federal immigration building near downtown Phoenix.
The FBI has confirmed that several rounds of gunfire were shot at the building’s exterior on July 14 by one or more unidentified individuals. A 12News photographer was at the Enforcement and Removal Operations building near Central Avenue on Tuesday and recorded footage of windows that appeared to have been damaged by gunfire.
The local FBI office initially would only say a “commotion” had happened at the federal building before confirming shots had been fired.
No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.
The FBI is asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the agency’s tip line at 1-800-225-5324. The investigation is ongoing.
