Much of the West has been enduring above-average temperatures and below-average snowfall, which has really impacted the snowpack across the West.
Fortunately, that pattern will change, bringing some rain and much needed mountain snowfall to the West. Rainfall of 1-3 inches is possible across the lower elevations and pockets of snowfall across the highest elevations could exceed 5 inches. Even Salt Lake City, which has only seen 0.1 inches of snowfall this season, could see some of the white stuff. Watch for the latest forecast.
And then the warmth will continue to build through tomorrow and Tuesday. Notice now we’re starting to creep into the east where only 21 million are below average now.
Many of those will be across some of the East Coast cities. Wednesday, 143 million with only 3 million people down below average. So we are kicking some of this cold continental polar air out. As our jet stream now will continue to buckle on off toward the north and keep it very warm even into tomorrow, many 80 degree temperatures from Oak City to Dallas, Midland almost there, and even San Antonio, uh, you’ve got a shot at hitting 80 degrees tomorrow.
North Plattes still in the mid 70s. What a day in the early part of February. Uh, Kelly, temperatures are going to be well above normal.
