Report: 1M Immigrants Exit US Workforce Under Trump Admin

The U.S. economy has roughly 1 million fewer immigrants in its labor force since the start of President Trump’s second term, according to a new report by the Pew Research Center.

The think tank says its report is based on preliminary Census Bureau data from January through July.

The 1.2 million number includes legal residents and those in the country illegally.

Trump, much like he did in his first term, has made it a priority in his second term of securing U.S. borders from illegal migration and deporting illegal migrants. At least some of those leaving the work force have been illegal immigrants who have returned home instead of being detained and deported.
