Rosie Roche, the cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, was reportedly found dead July 14 at the age of 20.
Roche, Princess Diana’s uncle’s granddaughter, was found dead by her mother and sister at a residence in Norton, England, according to The Sun. A firearm was allegedly near her body. Coroner Grant Davies said police officers “have deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement.”
An inquest into Roche’s death was reportedly launched at Wiltshire and Swindon coroner’s court and has adjourned until Oct. 25. Roche studied English literature at Durham University and was believed to have been packing for an upcoming trip with her friends, according to The Sun.
Principal of Durham’s University College Professor Wendy Powers issued a statement about the incident. “University College staff and students are extremely saddened by the tragic death of Rosie Roche,” she said.
“Rosie was a first-year student studying for an English Literature degree. Rosie had settled into the University and College beautifully and had lots of friends,” Powers said, according to The Sun.
