In a recent poll, former President Donald Trump appears to be headed for another substantial victory, securing 58% support among likely voters in the upcoming Palmetto State GOP primary in South Carolina on Feb. 24.
The survey conducted by The American Promise and The Tyson Group indicates a significant lead over his 2024 rival Nikki Haley, who garnered 31% support, while 11% remained undecided.
The poll reflected Trump’s dominance across various political and age demographics, with the exception of self-declared Democrats. Among this group, 49% expressed support for Haley, while only 5% favored the former president.
Trump’s favorability remains robust, as 68% of respondents held positive views of him, with 44% expressing “strongly favorable” opinions.
“Nikki loves to talk about cognitive impairment on the campaign trail, but she should take a hard look at herself and her life choices if she thinks she can be competitive in her home state of South Carolina in exactly one month. Name one state that Nikki can win. There isn’t one,” Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung has said.
In contrast, Nikki Haley received favorable opinions from 56% of respondents, and only 23% described their views of her as “strongly favorable.”
